Summary of Black Girl Dreaming

Hello fellow readers!
I finally finished the book, ¨Black Girl Dreaming" and it was amazing. I really recommend it.
It has all five of my stars.
Here is a summary of the whole book. (SPOILER ALERT)

The protagonist in this story is Jackie.
Jacqueline was born in Ohio, and is named after her father, Jack. She visits the south to see family, and doesn't understand why because it's segregated. Jack and Mary Ann have different views on what the south is doing, causing them to disagree and argue, eventually splitting the family apart. The family believes that acts for civil rights are right and that God will bless them for doing the right thing.

A lot of families treat them terribly, but there are also families that don't treat them so bad.
The family finally moves to New York, and there Jackie becomes best friends with a Puerto Rican girl named Maria and decides that she wants to become a writer.  The family still returns to South Carolina to visit their grandparents, However, each time to find Grandpa Gunnar, more sick. Things are starting to become a mess. Mary Anns brother gets sent to jail for acting on the Police and returns as a Muslim.  About the same time, Jackie and Maria start to love Angela Davis of the Black Panther movement. They imitate Angela, though they have no real idea about the revolution in which she is involved. Grandpa dies of cancer, and the family starts to live together again,

The beauty of the story is the way it's written. And how every word shows that the author simply wanted piece and everything to fall into it's place.

That's it for today.
