Context Clues

Hello, everyone!
So, if you had read the title you would have used context clues to figure out exactly what this post is going to be about.
Haha, so we will throw back to a skill you learn in fifth grade, finding the definition of a word using context clues.
I picked a difficult book and looked for words that you might not necessarily know. We will use context clues to figure out the definition, and then I will post the actual definition from the dictionary.

The Tell- Tale Heart
"Galton's idea's about eugenics seems almost comical in hindsight, yet there is no denying his genius."
Just saying, eugenics is:" the science of improving a human population by controlled breeding to increase the occurrence of desirable heritable characteristics. Developed largely by Francis Galton as a method of improving the human race, it fell into disfavor only after the perversion of its doctrines by the Nazis." Thank you google.

Now, let's assume you don't know the word "hindsight"
If we were to restate the sentence, it's basically saying that at first, you may think this idea of a perfect race is a joke, but to come up with such an idea, you have to be a little genius.
so hindsight could be some sort of "first impression."

Now, If I go on google search, here is the definition of hindsight:
noun
  1. understanding of a situation or event only after it has happened or developed.
"with hindsight, I should never have gone"

In short terms, it is some sort of first impression in the sense that you don't understand it at first.
Well that's all today,
xoxo
