How we can learn about narrative writing through independent reading

Hello everyone!
Yes yes, it's Monday!
That means I'm going to hit you with two extra hard questions today. 1. Take any book. Read it.
What can you learn about narrative writing through it?
For example, The Tell-Tale Brain has really good factual as well as sensual details that we can learn from and incorporate into our own writing.
At the moment, I am writing a historical narrative about the dustbowl and I can definitely incorporate a ton of sensual and factual details to make it more interesting.
The second question is: what happens when we mess with mother nature?
Simple, mother nature is unhappy and starts to try to fix itself, usually making things worse for us.
Ask yourself these questions to improve your writing as well!
